PACKAGING & LABEL DESIGN.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT: Reports to the Director of Product Development. Involves hands-on fabricating or modifying components and support systems for new products and existing product improvement. The objective is to carry out electro-mechanical assembly to support R&D projects. Monitor trial process for all products and prototype all equipment. Assist project managers and engineers. Prepare oral and written reports for all product development activities and analyze performance. Design drafts for all work instruction documents and products.

CABLE HARNESS ASSY & BILLS OF MATERIAL: A bill of materials or product structure (sometimes bill of material, BOM or associated list) is a list of the raw materials, sub-assemblies, intermediate assemblies, sub-components, parts and the quantities of each needed to manufacture an end product. Product structure is a hierarchical decomposition of a product, typically known as the bill of materials (BOM). For manufacturers, a bill of materials (BOM) is a critical product information record that lists the raw materials, assemblies, components, parts and the quantities of each needed to manufacture a product.

DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURING: DFM is the method of design for ease of manufacturing of the collection of parts that will form the product after assembly. Design for manufacturability (DFM) is the process of proactively designing products to (1) optimize all the manufacturing functions: fabrication, assembly, test, procurement, shipping, delivery, service, and repair, and (2) assure the best cost, quality, reliability, regulatory compliance, safety, time-to-market, and Design for assembly (DFA) is a process by which products are designed with ease of assembly in mind. If a product contains fewer parts it will take less time to assemble, thereby reducing assembly costs.

ELECTRONIC ENCLOSURE DESIGN: With any design, keep your development in scope and avoid adding cost and complexity where you don’t need it. At product requirement stage, ask yourself, what does my enclosure need to do and what are its most basic functions? Next, model the internal components and create the shell with a uniform wall thickness. Add slots and external holes for sensors, creates cutouts for wire connections and USB connector. Add ribs to support the pc-board and lid fastener features. Add nut features and fillet outet corners. Design the Lid: Repeat the box steps.
